John Ekblad is an associate in Chapman and Cutler’s Corporate and Securities Department. He joined the firm in 2011.

John focuses his practice in corporate and securities, with an emphasis on representing investment companies including unit investment trusts, exchange-traded funds, and open-end funds. 

John is also experienced in strategic corporate and securities matters, including merger and acquisition transactions, the organization and restructuring of business entities, and state blue-sky issues in tax-exempt financings. 

John is also a CPA. Prior to and during law school, he worked as a tax professional for the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP.
