Karim R. Merchant is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Finance Department and a member of the Aircraft Finance Group and Equipment Finance Group. He has represented lessors and financiers in a variety of transactions involving aircraft and related equipment, including cross-border operating lease financings, aircraft engine leases, aircraft and engine purchases and sales, secured debt transactions and warehouse financing facilities. Mr. Merchant has represented lessees (including certain U.S. class I railroads) in leveraged and capital lease transactions involving locomotives and other rolling stock. He has also represented insurance companies and other institutional investors in finance-related transactions including the private placement of debt and credit-tenant loans.
