Chay Cain is an associate in Chapman's Banking and Financial Services Department and is a member of the Commercial Lending Practice Group. He was part Chapman’s summer associate program in 2012 and joined the firm in 2013.
Chay represents banks and other financial institutions in domestic and international single-bank and syndicated transactions. He has experience structuring, documenting and negotiating both secured and unsecured facilities, as well as a variety of debt structures (including first lien/second lien, crossing lien, unitranche, and mezzanine structures).
He primarily focuses his practice on asset-based lending, sponsor financings, acquisition financings, cross-border lending, health care financings, floor plan financings, and cash-flow lending.
In 2018, Chay was a secondee in the legal department of a “Big Four” bank, where he supported the asset-based lending group. While on secondment, he assisted in structuring new single-bank and syndicated transactions, advised on internal bank policies and procedures, and negotiated loan documentation on behalf of the bank.
