Doug Madsen is a partner in Chapman’s Asset Securitization Department and Office Leader of the firm's Washington, DC office. He joined the firm in 2012.

Doug has extensive experience representing major financial institutions acting as issuers, underwriters, purchasers and derivative providers in connection with a wide variety of asset-based lending and asset-backed securities transactions.

Doug is regularly involved both in transactions that are publicly registered and transactions that are privately negotiated. He has experience with fixed pool and revolving pool structures utilized to finance a number of asset classes, including automobile leases and loans, small business administration loans, student loans, equipment leases and loans, consumer and small business credit card receivables, unsecured consumer installment loan receivables, residential mortgages and home equity loans.

Prior to joining the firm, Doug served as a partner in the Global Finance department of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, and as an associate with the law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in Washington, DC.
