Gabriel Lara is an associate at Chapman. His practice is focused on representing clients in the financial services and capital markets space. Gabriel assists Chapman partners in the negotiation, structuring, documentation, and closing of a wide variety of financial transactions.

Gabriel participated in Chapman's summer associate program in 2019 and joined the firm in 2021. During law school, Gabriel was recognized as the “Law Student of the Year” by the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, received the “Outstanding Leadership Award” from Chicago-Kent College of Law, and regularly volunteered with pro bono organizations, including the Pro Bono Project and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. As a law student, he also participated in a summer internship at Northern Trust. Following law school, Gabriel served as a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Fellow at Ascend Justice where he worked on immigration and order of protection matters.
