Swathi Shankar is an associate in Chapman's Banking and Financial Services Department and is a member of the Commercial Lending Group. Swathi participated in Chapman’s summer associate program and joined the firm in 2017.
Swathi represents banks and other commercial lenders in the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of a wide range of credit facilities, including syndicated, bilateral, multi-currency, and secured and unsecured credit facilities. Her practice primarily focuses on acquisition financings, sponsor financings, cash-flow lending, commercial lending, franchisee financings, and lease and equipment financings.
Swathi’s transactions span a number of industries, including agriculture, business and consulting services, consumer manufacturers and retailers, education, financial institutions, food (processors, producers, and distributors), health care, and private equity and portfolio companies.
Swathi maintains an active pro bono practice. She has assisted clients on asylum matters, with applications for relief under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program, and has volunteered with Wills For Heroes.
