Walt Begley is a partner and the Practice Group Leader of Chapman and Cutler’s Asset Securitization Department, and he currently acts as the firm’s Lateral Hiring Partner. Since joining the firm in 1984, Walt has worked primarily on structured financings, with particular emphasis on asset securitization transactions. His asset securitization clients include private and publicly held corporations, major commercial banks and insurance companies, as well as national and regional investment banking firms. Walt’s involvement in asset securitization financings has included the representation of issuers, underwriters, purchasers, trustees and servicers. His securitization experience includes work on a variety of asset types, including auto loan, lease receivable, mortgage loan, commercial loan, credit card receivable, student loan and timeshare securitizations.

  • Representation of the issuer in connection with a $450,000,000 TALF Eligible equipment lease securitization
  • Representation of the issuer in connection with a $140,000,000 term securitization of sub-prime auto loans
