Toi Hutchinson has joined Chapman and Cutler LLP to advance the Firm’s community involvement, social investment and diversity outreach.
CHICAGO – Chapman and Cutler LLP is pleased to announce that Toi Hutchinson joins the Firm today. As Chapman’s Director of Community Relations and Social Responsibility, Hutchinson will work closely with the Firm’s leadership to build upon Chapman’s long history of community involvement. Hutchinson will work with diversity, pro bono and recruiting stakeholders at Chapman to collaborate with Firm clients to promote social responsibility and diversity initiatives, seek additional opportunities for Firm involvement in community and economic development, and expand the Firm’s network of pipeline and recruiting programs.
Hutchinson was recently re-elected to serve a third term in the Illinois State Senate representing the 40th District and serves as the Chair of the Senate Revenue Committee. Prior to public office, she worked in governmental relations and legislative affairs for the law firm of Vincent R. Williams and Associates, P.C. in Chicago, served as Chief of Staff for Illinois State Senator Debbie Halvorson, served two terms as the Clerk of the Village of Olympia Fields (Illinois), served as the Chief Professional Officer of the Southwest Suburban United Way, and started her career as a public affairs consultant focusing on political consulting, policy analysis and nonprofit board development. She has received numerous awards for her public service and commitment to inclusion and diversity. Hutchinson is an Executive Management Fellow in the Women and Leadership program created by Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (B.A., English), she later went on to earn her law degree from Northern Illinois University (2014).
Chapman has a long history of community and social investment, dating back to the Firm’s founder T.S. Chapman, who was an ardent supporter of Gads Hill and Association House, both organizations serving Chicago neighborhoods for more than 100 years. “Investing in the communities in which our attorneys and staff work and live has been a core value from the very beginning of our Firm.
