John Bibby is a partner in Chapman’s National Public and Health & Education Finance Department. He works primarily on tax-exempt revenue bond financings for health care institutions, serving as bond counsel for issuers located throughout the United States.

John also acts as borrower's counsel and underwriter's counsel. He has worked with major health care providers in Illinois and across the country. He has served as underwriter’s counsel to several large investment banks. John also leads the senior living financing practice and has served as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, and corporate counsel for numerous continuing care retirement communities in Illinois, California, and other states. He also has experience with debt restructuring for distressed borrowers.

John is a regular panelist at the National Association of Bond Lawyers Bond Attorneys Workshop.

John started his legal career at Chapman. Prior to rejoining Chapman in 2014, he practiced in the health care group at Jones Day.
