Overview

Amani Smathers is the innovation solutions manager on the Chapman Practice Innovations team, focusing on document automation, process improvement and designing systems to manage workflows and turn data into actionable insights. She understands that not every challenge faced by our clients is a “legal” problem and enjoys helping clients tackle legal operations goals. She is a frequent speaker on legal technology and innovation topics and serves as an adjunct professor at the Center for Law, Technology & Innovation at Michigan State University College of Law.

Prior to joining Chapman, Amani worked as a legal solutions architect at Davis Wright Tremaine and Seyfarth Shaw. She is a graduate of Tufts University and Michigan State University College of Law where she served as Innovation Counsel to the ReInvent Law Laboratory.
