Overview
Adam Barton is a partner and member of Chapman's Asset Securitization Department. He represents corporate borrowers, issuers, alternative asset funds, banks, and other financial institutions in all aspects of complex financings, including structured credit, asset securitization, warehouse facilities, cash flow loans, acquisition financings, and other asset-backed financing transactions. Counseling clients buying and selling loans and receivables in forward flow arrangements or static portfolios is also a core aspect of Adam’s practice.
Adam has experience with a wide array of traditional and esoteric asset classes, including personal loans, auto leases/loans, mortgages, point-of-sale loans, timeshare receivables, debt settlements, healthcare receivables, litigation finance, credit card receivables, film royalties, among others. His background also includes advising developers, investors, and lenders on financings of commercial real estate and renewable energy projects, such as solar, battery, and wind.
Prior to joining Chapman, Adam was a partner in the finance group at an AmLaw 100 firm. Adam also served as senior counsel in the capital markets groups of two premier nonbank lenders where he helped lead their securitization programs and was part of multiple first-of-its-kind term securitizations.
