Overview

Derek is an associate and member of Chapman’s Commercial Lending Group. He represents institutional lenders and borrowers in domestic and cross-border finance transactions, including secured and unsecured syndicated and bilateral facilities, high-yield offerings, multi-currency facilities, asset-based facilities, acquisition financings, first- and second-lien loans, and commercial real estate financings.

Derek has also advised on transactions involving borrowers in many different industries and with various collateral types, including monetized contract rights, rolling stock, real estate, deposit and security accounts, intellectual property, and offshore collateral. His experience further includes advising sponsors and strategic corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions, securities filings, and governance matters.

Prior to joining Chapman, Derek practiced law in the financial services groups of two international Am Law 50 firms.
