Melissa Mitchum is a partner and member of Chapman's Asset Securitization Department. She represents borrowers, issuers, funds, investors, and financial institutions in a broad range of structured finance, project finance, and securitization transactions, spanning both domestic and cross-border financings across diverse asset classes.
Melissa advises financial institutions, issuers, investors, and servicers in connection with securitization programs, structured product platforms, commercial paper programs, rated note feeder funds, and covered bond offerings. She has extensive experience structuring and negotiating complex transactions involving mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, project finance, repurchase facilities, credit facilities, rated note feeder funds, synthetic structured products, receivables finance, and commercial paper programs.
Melissa also advises institutional investors on rights and remedies relating to complex debt instruments, including CDOs, CLOs, and other structured products. In addition, she counsels clients on regulatory matters, including compliance with the Investment Company Act, Regulation AB, and the Volcker Rule.
