Overview

Matt Doran is an associate in Chapman's Tax Department. Matt is primarily involved in the issuance of tax‑exempt and tax-advantaged bonds for the benefit of governmental and 501(c)(3) organizations. He participated in Chapman's summer associate program in 2020 and joined the firm in 2022.

During law school, Matt finished first in his class in the Corporate & Partnership Tax and Advanced Corporate Tax courses. He was the executive producer of The Podvocate, the only student-led podcast at a U.S. law school. He also received his 711 license, representing low-income veterans and actively serving military members in civil legal matters through Loyola's Community Law Center Veterans Practicum.

Prior to law school, Matt founded a technology startup, was managing editor at a sports magazine, taught English-as-a-Second-Language in Japan and China and published several literary short-stories.
